The September 11 terrorist attacks on America have caused tremendous concern for our daily safety, security and prosperity. Since then, GSI has devoted itself to finding both short-term and long-term solutions to the problems caused by terrorism. We are dedicated to developing practical ways to counter the terrorist threat, both now and in the future. We want to provide a useful framework for peace and security in the world's rapidly changing political and military environment.

Greetings from the Institute Director,

"It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to GSI. We are committed to building a better understanding between competing business and cultural forces across the globe. Our view is that through proper study and research we can find solutions that are helpful to humanity at large. We welcome the new initiatives that banking and insurance industries are taking to broaden the scope of global finance. You will find the recent updates to the website involving Islamic Finance quite useful"

What Is GSI?

GSI is a non-profit research institution dedicated to combining the resources of the private sector, non- governmental organizations (NGOs), academia, and government to solve the problems of international terrorism and conflict, leading to improved global security. The institute draws from a wide variety of people with experience in security, science and technology, international business, research and development, engineering, government relations, public affairs and media, among many fields.

What GSI Can Do for You

Business, not to mention the jobs, careers and economic prosperity that goes with it, is all too often the forgotten victim of terrorism. Campaigns of terror not only destroy existing productivity, they also keep people from investing and building new enterprises in the first place. GSI is dedicated to changing this, by comprehensively assessing and addressing the risks involved in both planned and existing international business projects and enterprises. Our focus is market analysis, threat assessment, forecasting, information management and security, travel management, relations with national, provincial and local governments, international business relationships and financial transactions and related security protocols. We have experts available on the ground in order to minimize personal and corporate risk.

Peace Through Prosperity

We are different from most other policy institutes in that we believe that business, industry and free enterprise can be the prime mover for peace and global security. We believe that people who are employed in meaningful and productive work with a future are far less likely to be sympathetic to terrorist goals and actions than those who are poor, with few economic alternatives. We believe in the positive, transforming power of non-governmental solutions and private-sector initiatives in the pursuit of world peace.

The Institute's Objectives

To use our domestic and international resources to provide practical solutions and training that will increase security at home and abroad, prevent terrorism and resolve international conflicts, now and in the future. We believe in working cooperatively with governments, while primarily using what non-governmental organizations and private sector initiatives have to offer to accomplish these goals.

Global Studies- Global Solutions

Anyone can discuss the problems facing the world today, but the GSI is dedicated to discussing the most promising solutions to those problems. Through our experience and reseearch, we have developed, and are continuing to develop, implementable action plans to bring about a more peaceful, prosperous world in our time. Some of these proposals are:

  • Empowering Youth Women in Developing Societies: From Africa to Asia, to Latin America, women and youth remain unproductive in today's world. No meaningful change is possible without their increaded involvement in the economy. This is not a new concept, but it has proven to be a successful one. A country can not be successful or functional when "half of the population was oppressed". Women play significant and necessary roles in in modern societies such as Turkey, contributing to a society that continues to grow and emerge into the light of the new millennium.
  • Economic Development: Despite the recent events, Afghanistan, Sudan, Pakistan and other Muslim countries, represent a fertile ground for the building of new business and enterprise. Real Estate is plentiful and labor is readily available. Economic investment and commitment to these regions of former conflict offer far-thinking companies an unprecedented opportunity provide much needed economic relief to these war-ravaged regions, while improving their own profitability, and providing a lifestyle for the peoples of these lands that is not based on firearms or drug trade, and offers genuine hope for a future for themselves and their families.
  • Expert assessment of conflict in the Middle East and Africa: One of the services the GSI offers is to make available experts who are on the ground in these regions, and provide comprehensive risk analysis and intelligence to businesses interested in taking advantage of these fresh opportunities. Our contacts in the GSI are comprehensive and at a high level, allowing you access to prime information of value in planning and implementing corporate strategy.
